Lytchett Minster School was allocated £18,053 in 2018-2019 as funding for the Year 7 Catch Up initiative.
Year 7 Catch Up Funding 2018-2019
In 2018-2019, funding was directed towards Year 7 literacy groups in order to help those with the lowest literacy levels to catch up. Progress was measured according to their KS3 threshold target, which, in turn, was generated according to KS2 attainment.
- 93% of students achieved or exceeded their threshold in reading by the end of the year.
- 89% of students achieved or exceeded their threshold in writing by the end of the year.
Year 7 Catch Up Funding 2019-2020
For 2019-2020, Catch Up funding will be directed towards those Year 7 students who need greater support with their literacy and reading. These students have been identified through CAT (cognitive ability testing), Lucid and KS2 QLA (question-level analysis) data. Funding will be added to Pupil Premium funding to support the following initiatives:
- 1:1 English
- Year 7 literacy group
- Paired reading
- 1:1 English mentor
Funding will also contribute towards increased hours for our attendance officer when working with Year 7 students whose attendance is below 95%.
