Making Small Stuff Big – microscopy with light, electrons and x-rays.
Although microscopes have been around for hundreds of years, they still play a pivotal role in biological and medical research and work in ways which the early pioneers would never have dreamed of – not just with simple white light, but with electrons and X rays and in 2D, 3D and 4D – some even cheat the laws of physics! We will look at the different types of microscopes and how they can be used in isolation or together to discover new biology.
