Two Lytchett students have recently been awarded £50 Amazon vouchers for their entries to the Geography Really Matters competition organised by the Hampshire Geographical Association and the University of Portsmouth.
Lucy Wilson (Year 7, Portland house) produced a poster detailing events of a “swapsy day” and Poppy Rogers (Year 9, Portland house) took two pieces of old clothing and combined them to make a new jumper. The prizes were awarded as they had found ingenious solutions to the challenge of “fast fashion”. An award ceremony will be held at the Hampshire Geographical Association’s annual conference in October and the students’ winning entries will feature both at the conference and in the Geographical Association magazine.
Congratulations to both students – a fantastic achievement!
