Hope for Food Appeal

Along with many other schools in Dorset, we are supporting Hope for Food's appeal for donations this autumn.

Hope for Food is a charity assisting people in Bournemouth and the surrounding area who are either homeless or living in poverty. They serve around 4,000 meals every three months make make sure that people in our part of the world get hot food and drink each week, throughout the year, whatever the weather. They also aim to try and bring a little happiness back into the lives of people who, perhaps through no fault of their own, find themselves without the things that most of us take for granted.

We are therefore asking every member of our school community - students, parents, staff and governors - to bring in one item of food to help make life better for those less fortunate than ourselves. We will be collecting the following items during the week 21 - 25 October:

  • rice
  • tinned meat or fish
  • tinned vegetables
  • instant mashed potatoes
  • pasta sauce
  • ketchup/mayonnaise
  • tinned pasta
  • jam/marmalade
  • cereal
  • soup (tinned or packet)
  • biscuits
  • squash
  • tea/coffee/hot chocolate
  • tinned fruit
  • tinned rice pudding
  • tinned custard
  • washing up liquid
  • roll-on deodorant
  • tissues
  • shampoo
