What a day!
Sunshine and ice creams were the order of the day on Friday, 5 July, as over 1,100 students and staff completed the annual Sandwalk to raise money for Cancer Research UK and the The Ed Kent Trust. Resplendent in blue, the wave of Lytchett students walked from Shore Road to Bournemouth Pier, where they were entertained by cheerleading teams involved in the national finals! The return leg was hot but the ice creams seemed to do the trick.
Everyone on the beach who witnessed the event – and you’d struggle not to – was very complimentary about our students and the way they represented the school. Even one of the coach drivers remarked that he wished he had a pound for every “thank you” he’d received from our students!
Thanks to everyone involved – organisers and participants. Now comes the challenge! Sponsor money is due in on Thursday morning (11 July) so, students, please collect and sponsors, part with your cash! This year has the potential to be a record-breaker, with some individuals raising staggering amounts but we’d like everyone to feel that they are part of this very special event when we reveal the total raised in the final assembly of the school year.
Thank you again to everybody involved – let’s look forward to the 2020 Sandwalk!
